Accumulating garbage, trash, paper, litter, refuse, cans, bottles, discarded furniture, appliances, tires, construction and demolition materials, among other items in yards, on road ways, or in streams is illegal. Bingo: City of Mullens is sponsoring Bingo each Monday (except holidays) at 6:30 p.m. in the Legion Building.

Brenton Public Service District meetings are conducted the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the PSD office. Meetings are open to the public.

Captain Ralph Stewart Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution meet the first Tuesday of each month — excluding January, July, August, December — at 7 p.m. in the Guyandotte Baptist Church in Jesse. To become a member, individuals must descend from someone who fought in the American Revolution; chapter members will assist with required paperwork. Eastern Wyoming Public Service District meetings are conducted the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the water plant in Stephenson. Meetings are open to the public.

Glen Rogers Public Service District meetings are conducted the second Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the sewer plant. Meetings are open to the public.

Marianna Freewill Baptist Church is hosting revival services through March 28 beginning at 7 p.m. daily. Special musical performances for each service with speakers, in order of their appearance, Rev. Gary Walker, Rev. Adam Vance, Rev. Carson Gray, Rev. Chris Vint and Rev. Carson Gray. Pineville is also accepting applications for summer lifeguards; applications are available at town hall Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Applicants must have Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR certfications. Applications may be returned by mail to Town of Pineville, Box 220, Pineville, WV 24874 or dropped off at town hall. The deadline is April 11 at 4 p.m.

Ravencliff-McGraws-Saulsville Public Service District meets the first Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. in the business office. Meetings are open to the public.

The Way Youth Center’s annual rummage sale is scheduled April 25-26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day. Located in Mullens, the center is accepting good, clean rummage and furniture for the sale each Friday and Saturday from 4 until 10 p.m.

Veterans in Wyoming and McDowell counties who may need assistance with VA disability claims or other free services are urged to visit the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance in Welch, at 90 Howard Street on the second floor of the library, or phone 304-436-3804.
