Twin Falls Resort State Park’s new lobby and front desk area, expanded gift shop, and main level access to the restaurant are now open. Since Sept. 15, 2008, the park lodge has been undergoing an $8 million expansion that includes 28 new rooms on three floors, bringing the total lodge number to 48, along with an indoor swimming pool and small spa, exercise room, elevator, and conference facilities. “It’s prettier than I ever dreamed it would be,” said park Superintendent Scott Durham. The new access has made a dramatic change in accessibility for the handicapped and elderly, Durham believes. “They find it to be very friendly,” Durham said of the renovations. “It seems to stir people up.” New rooms will open once the furniture and wall coverings have been installed.
