Oceana residents will return to the polls June 14 to elect a mayor, a recorder and five council members. Municipal precincts will be open on that day from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Incumbent John Roach did not file to run for mayor again, but rather filed for a seat on the council.

Mayoral candidates include Chuck Childers, Thomas Evans Jr. and Ladd Jasper III.

Incumbent recorder Clark Manning is challenged by Tamera Gallion.

Nineteen people have filed for the council positions, including incumbents Jim Cook, Don Morgan, Bryant Whisenant and Jesse Womack.

Also filing were Donald Bailey, Suzanne Clark, Hellen Cook, Kenny Graham, Jared Harless, Homer Nutter, Stacey Price, Tina Redden, John Roach, Leah Spears, Gary Spence, Delma Stacy, Steven Stone Sr., Douglas Walker Jr. and Bill Webster.

The drawing for candidates' name placement on the ballot has already been conducted, according to officials.

Election results will be canvassed beginning June 20, according to officials.

Those elected will take office July 1.
